About Akanotic

Akanotic was founded because Canadian businesses that sell to government were still finding opportunities the way they did a decade ago: portal alerts, forwarded PDFs, shared spreadsheets and word of mouth. Public tenders are public, but they are scattered across dozens of federal, provincial and municipal sources, and the ones that fit best are easy to miss. We build software that brings them into one place, explains why each one matters, and lets teams compete on the strength of their proposals rather than the luck of who saw the notice first.

Our mission is to give Canadian businesses that sell to government one shared view of public-sector opportunities, matched to what they do and linked to the original notice, so every bid decision starts from the same picture.

We want every Canadian business pursuing public-sector work, whatever its size or sector, to have the same quality of opportunity intelligence as the largest players in its market: early sight of what fits, clear reasons, and a pipeline the whole team can trust.

Akanotic Consulting Inc. is a Canadian technology company based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Strategy Cockpit is built in Canada and hosted in Canada, and it is designed around how Canadian public procurement actually works, from CanadaBuys to provincial and municipal portals, standing offers and pre-qualifications. Being Canadian means we understand the buyers, the vehicles and the regional differences our customers deal with every day, and that the people who answer your questions are the people building the product.

Dami Subair is the Founder and CEO of Akanotic, a Halifax-based technology company building Strategy Cockpit, procurement intelligence software for Canadian businesses that sell to government.

Dami brings more than fifteen years of enterprise delivery experience across strategy, business analysis, digital transformation and technology delivery, including PMO leadership in healthcare, ERP and CRM consulting, and delivery roles in banking and energy. Working closely with business leaders, he saw the same pattern again and again: teams did not lack opportunities, they lacked a reliable way to see which ones fit, because the notices were scattered across portals, inboxes and spreadsheets. That insight led to Akanotic and its flagship platform, Strategy Cockpit.

Today Akanotic is piloting Strategy Cockpit with a Canadian consulting firm and building the platform hand-in-hand with the teams who use it, so that every Canadian business pursuing public-sector work can have the same quality of opportunity intelligence as the largest players in its market.

Strategy Cockpit is hosted in Canada, supporting organizations that prefer their application infrastructure to remain within Canadian jurisdiction. We are committed to responsible data handling, privacy, and security, and continuously review our hosting and operational practices as the platform evolves.

2025 – The idea

Recognized that Canadian businesses pursuing public-sector work needed to move beyond portal alerts, forwarded PDFs and spreadsheets toward one connected view of the opportunities that fit them.

2025 – Research and validation

Conducted market research, interviewed prospective users at consulting, engineering and technology firms, refined the product vision and validated the core challenges faced by business-development and proposal teams.

2026 – Strategy Cockpit MVP

Designed and built the first version of Strategy Cockpit: a feed of Canadian public tenders from federal, provincial and municipal sources, matched to each organization's capability profile with a plain-language reason, source evidence on every record, and a shared pipeline.

2026 – First pilot

Joined the Volta and Propel Atlantic innovation programs, and began a structured pilot with a Canadian consulting firm, tuning matching, source coverage and the pipeline with the team using it every day.

Looking ahead

Our aim is to make Strategy Cockpit the trusted opportunity-intelligence platform for Canadian businesses that sell to government: catching what fits earlier, keeping every decision explainable, and expanding coverage with the firms that use it. Next on the roadmap, and not yet live: opportunities listed by private-sector buyers and contract-award intelligence.
